The story of Texas Ribs & BBQ started in 1986 in a small BBQ trailer located on Route 925 in Waldorf, MD. As we built up our menu and clientele we decided it was time to make a move to bigger and better things. In 1990, we opened our doors to Texas Ribs & BBQ restaurant located in Clinton, MD. Over the years, we built up a family of first-class employees and patrons and made the decision to expand even further. In June 2012, the Sager family got together and opened our newest location in La Plata, MD located on Crain Highway.
We've traveled near and far to develop a unique flavor in all of our foods. Our homemade "dry rub" consists of various spices that are put on all of our meats before they are smoked over a fire pit for 4-6 long hours. We use only the finest quality pork ribs and cook them until they are perfectly tender. A specialty at Texas Ribs is our brisket! To fully capture the flavor, our award winning brisket takes a full 16 hours of smoking. What's pork without the beans? Our BBQ beans are cooked to perfection with an assortment of spices, sugars, honey, onions, beef and pork to give it that special Texas flavor.
To make your visit even more memorable, our newest location offers Twin Kiss soft-serve ice cream! We offer chocolate, vanilla, and twist ice cream that is made daily. We offer cones, malt-shakes, sundaes, and more!
If you are wondering if we serve our famous Root Beer Floats, you are in for a treat! We were able to get the recipe from the original Twin Kiss owner from 1959.
